Terms & Refund Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

These terms apply to purchases of the Stilltale Pro license (the "Pro license"). Use of the software itself is governed by the End-User License Agreement (EULA). If the two conflict, the EULA prevails for matters of software use.

1. Seller

  • Stilltale is developed and operated by Yasuhiro Yamada, trading as Stilltale, in Japan (the "Developer").
  • Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it handles payment, tax calculation and collection, receipts, refunds, and customer service inquiries related to purchases.

2. What you buy and how it is delivered

  • The Pro license is a one-time purchase valid for the major version of the software current at the time of purchase (for example, 1.x), including every minor and patch update within that major version. Using Pro features in the next major version (for example, 2.x) requires a new license (EULA Section 3). The app itself is free to download; the Pro license unlocks the Pro features inside the app (such as removing the "Created with Stilltale" notice).
  • After purchase, a license key is sent to the email address you entered at checkout. The key is registered in the app offline; no activation request is made.
  • The scope of the license (one named licensee, unlimited devices) and the ban on sharing or resale follow Section 3 of the EULA.

3. Pricing and payment

  • Prices are shown under Pricing and include tax. Paddle.com calculates the sales tax or VAT for your location and shows the breakdown at checkout.
  • Available payment methods and currencies are those offered in the Paddle.com checkout.

4. Refund policy

  • Within 14 days of purchase, we refund in full for any reason. Contact support@stilltale.com or Paddle.com support (paddle.net) with your order number.
  • Refunds are issued by Paddle.com to the original payment method. Once refunded, your license key is void and you must stop using the Pro features.
  • After 14 days, if a defect in the software prevents you from using the Pro features, contact us and we will work out a resolution case by case.
  • Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under the consumer laws of your country or region.

5. Termination

Termination of the Pro license follows Section 8 of the EULA. Should the Developer stop offering Pro features, license keys already issued remain valid for their major version: key verification is performed offline and does not depend on any server.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If any part is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
