If macOS says the developer cannot be verified

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Stilltale into your Applications folder.
  2. Right-click (Control-click) the app, choose “Open”, then click “Open” again in the dialog.
  3. If it still will not open, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click “Open Anyway” near the bottom.

If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

This warning does not appear with the Microsoft Store version. If you are using the installer (.exe):

  1. Click “More info” in the dialog.
  2. Click the “Run anyway” button that appears.

Running the AppImage on Linux

  1. Make the downloaded file executable: chmod +x Stilltale-linux.AppImage
  2. Double-click it or run ./Stilltale-linux.AppImage. If it does not start, your distribution may need libfuse2 installed.
